A total of 14.9 million Bangladeshi nationals are employed in 176 different countries.

During his budget speech, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal disclosed that over 14.9 million Bangladeshi laborers are currently employed in 176 countries worldwide.

Over the past twelve years, since the government came into power, a total of 8,147,642 workers have received training in various categories such as professional, skilled, semi-skilled, and low-skilled, he stated.

He also mentioned that 73 training centers have been expanded and decentralized. Additionally, around one million women workers have found employment opportunities overseas during this period.

Kamal also noted the government’s efforts to explore new labor markets, resulting in the deployment of Bangladeshi workers to countries like Poland, Seychelles, Albania, Romania, Slovenia, Uzbekistan, Bosnia Herzegovina, and Cambodia, in addition to the traditional destinations.
